The painter Klaus Hinkel has been living and working in Frigiliana, a small village above Nerja on the Costa del Sol for over ten years. He mainly paints watercolours as well as some acrylic pictures. He also produces linoleum cuts in very small editions. More than 120 postcards, several artprints and two books ("Wasserfarben - Watercolors - Aquarellieren" and "Mit Farben und Wasser durch Andalusien") show his art. He has been a member of the "Asociacion de Acuarelistas de Andalucia" for many years. In 2005 he was awarded the "Duquesa de Alba", the andalusian award for watercolours.

The so-called "barribarto", the ancient part of the village where the painters studio is located, has kept its original charm. The narrow streets, paved with natural stones, can only be traversed by foot. They captivate visitors with their peace and beauty. Therefor it is no wonder that more and more international tourists are coming to visit Frigiliana which many people consider the most beautiful of the white villages on the Costa del Sol.

"When I visited this village together with my wife for the first time, it was almost an insider's tip and after half an hour we knew that we wanted to stay here. So we bought an old ruin which we reformed ourselves in the course of the following two years. This old house is where now my studio is located (Google Map Klaus Hinkel). It is open in the morning from 10am to 2pm and you can come and visit me there."
